Our History

Liberty Baptist Church has an exciting history of about 4 years.  Early in 2004 while surveying North Saint Johns County, in St. Johns, Florida, we saw a new growth community with many subdivisions, thousands of people, and unfortunately no standing church.   It was on this night that God confirmed in my heart that we were to start a new church in Saint Johns, Florida.

With great anticipation and excitement we started Thursday night mid-week services on August 18, 2005 in the Timberlin Creek Elementary school auditorium.  On Sunday, September 25, 2005 we launched the church and officially began Sunday morning services. 

In September of 2007, God performed a miracle as we combined with another local church in the area:  Lighthouse Baptist.  They had been in existence for almost 20 years.  Now that we have combined together we have grown in many ways.  We also have a church office and great opportunities to expand our ministry!  Since we started the church, God has drawn people from our community together to form a strong, local church.  We are very excited about the future of Liberty Baptist Church.  In the days ahead, we plan to build a permanent church building on our property located at 1295 Roberts Rd. in St. Johns, Florida so we can better reach our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
